In this blog, we will talk about the objectives of an internal audit.

(1) Monitor regulatory compliance: One of the main objectives of the internal audit is to see whether the company’s plans, actions, and principles are in accordance to accomplish the company's goals or not. It also evaluates whether the company is following the government guideline or not. Internal audit also helps to keep things in the correct manner so that no problem arises when an external audit occurs.

(2) Record findings: One of the important roles of internal audit is to report all the findings to the finance head or CFO of the company. These reports may also contain some useful proposals for amending issues.

(3) Evaluate internal controls: Controls are like plans that the company authorizes to oversee risk and make sure that everyone in the company has targets or objectives that help the company to accomplish its goals. Internal audit basically helps in operational effectiveness, data security, and financial compliance. These controls are preventive, which helps the company to know their mistakes and rectify them so that the company has not to face any difficulty in the external audit.

(4) Mitigation of risk factors: There are many types of risks for the business in Bahrain or in any part of the globe in this competitive world. These risks may vary from heavy completion in the market by the entrance of a big player to the changing government policies. So, an internal audit analyzes the company’s capacity to bear risk, its arrangements, and moderating risk. The role of the internal auditor is also to communicate every new risk that may occur immediately to the management so that the management can also make the strategy and plans to mitigate the risk or risk factors with the help of the internal auditor.
